Shutterbug Saturday: Baños part III

More photos from Baños! Here are more shots from Rio Verde in addition to some of the shops and some of the buildings outside. I also bought an Ecuador FEF (Fedaracion Ecuador Futbol) jersey at one of the shops and you can see that jersey in one of the photos.

Shutterbug Saturday: Baños part III

We visited Rio Verde (literally Green River in Spanish) in Baños which was quite beautiful. There were some waterfalls over there and rock formations. However, some people have put their names on the rocks. Even with my limited Spanish, I knew that the sign over them said “Don’t write on the rocks.”

I certainly haven’t seen anything like this here in America.

Shutterbug Saturday: Baños de Agua Santa part II

Here’s more photography taken from Baños, Ecuador.

We went higher up in the mountainous part of the town where we saw the Swing at the End of the World which is over 6000 feet above sea level as you’re swinging right in the Andes. Right next to it is The Tree House which overlooks the Andes region in Baños. I tried swinging and it was amazing despite having some issues with heights.

Shutterbug Saturday: Baños de Agua Santa

Now, we’ll be delving into some photos from Baños, Ecuador!

We stayed in the Hotel Sangay which is near the hot springs in town. We looked at the cityscape of this small town which is in the middle of the Andes and the Amazon.

Shutterbug Saturday: The Quilotoa Loop

Shutterbug Saturday: The Quilotoa Loop

Welcome to The Quilotoa Loop!

Quilotoa is a volcanic lagoon inside a crater. It’s over 12000 feet above sea level and there are some towns built right on the slope right here in the Andes. It was quite a sight seeing this natural scenery and I’ve never seen a volcanic lagoon (let alone volcanoes) in my life until visiting Ecuador.

Shutterbug Saturday: Hacienda La Cienega (Lasso, Ecuador) Pt. III

Shutterbug Saturday! Woohoo!

Here are the last few pictures from the Hacienda La Cienega. Those are more chapel shots and some from the garden. I have some photos of the Cotopaxi Province countryside as we were en route to a town that makes Quito look like flatland Illinois. Stay tuned…

Shutterbug Saturday: Hacienda La Cienega (Lasso, Ecuador) Pt. II

Here’s some more photos straight out of Lasso, Ecuador.

There are some garden shots of the Hacienda La Cienega, but there are also some roses and some pictures from the chapel. This is actually a noted wedding location even for couples outside of the country. Did you also know that Ecuador is one of the leading rose exporters in the world, too?
