Sorry for the lack of #TBT posts last week. It was Thanksgiving and I was busy spending time with family and then working later that day.
I was surprised that I didn’t post any videos of these guys on this blog yet. This is Horse Painter. They are an indie rock band from Algonquin, Illinois. When I saw them play, it was their 3rd show ever as a band.
Here are some videos from the indie rock band Wayfarer. This was during the finals at the Battle of the Bands at Side Street Studio Arts. These guys definitely play some of the harder indie stuff mixed with post-punk, and post-rock.
Here’s a video from 2015 when I discovered Little Yellow Dog.
This was for a Battle of the Bands event. I gave it a bit of a reddish tint for the event because the lighting was a bit wonky, so why not be a bit artistic with a concert shot, eh?
You might remember Haven from a previous #TBT post.
This is one of their full band songs where they do their typical indie/post-hardcore music. This is from that same show at Side Street back in ’14.
Here’s a fun concert I went to back in 2009.
This involves Sleeping At Last back when they were a three piece. The opening band was Color Radio (now known as Landmarks). It was great seeing them play at JU.
Here’s a triple threat of tasty music for you!
I’ve had the honor to film Steve Barnes & The Hazy Sparrow. You may have seen some older videos with Steve & Bethany Barnes, but this time it’s with those two plus Steve and Brian Baxter on bass and drums respectively. How often do you see two families in the same band? They did a wonderful job with this short set.
