El Socko: Betty Boop [Live @ Side Street]

Here’s one of the most recent videos I’ve filmed.

This is El Socko. They are a band who uses surrealist humor and performance pieces in between their songs. At this show, they used cardboard buildings, Godzilla costumes, pink ukuleles, Sin Cara (yes, as in the WWE luchador wrestler) masks, and sun costumes. It was a whirlwind of fun and trippiness.

Take 2 Creative Camp Film Trailer

I was involved in doing something with the Take 2 Creative Camp Program.

The teens are working on short films that both pass and fail either the Bechdel Test or the Deggans Test when it comes to writing stories with female characters or minority characters. They’re randomly assigned a genre and had to create scripts for their project. I filmed and edited this quick little trailer to promote the Take 2 Program and their project.

Sloth Hands: Have a Great Summer [Live @ Side Street]

Meet Sloth Hands!

They are a folk punk trio from Illinois’s third largest city (that’s Rockford, for those scoring at home) playing at this year’s battle of the bands. This is them playing the title track from their Have a Great Summer album.

Take 2 Garage Sale Video

Here’s a video I was involved in recently.

At the Take 2 Creative Camp, there was a garage sale fundraiser for the program outside. It was in the heart of Downtown Elgin and everyone sold various clothes, shoes, toys, video games, and baby supplies to raise money for the Take 2 Creative Camp. It was quite fun. The footage was done by by Korisa of Mad Dash Productions and some of the teens. I provided the ukulele instrumental for the video. Also, yes…you do briefly see me in some shots playing the ukulele or walking around.
