Shutterbug Saturday: Alausi/Guayaquil

What’s up?

Here are the last few photos of my trip to Alausi before going to Guayaquil. For those of you don’t know, Guayaquil is the biggest city in Ecuador with over 3.5 million people living there. We were at a nice hotel and this was the last day where we were with Alex our tour guide. This city felt like Chicago to me, but with palm trees and the Pacific Ocean instead of Lake Michigan in terms of aesthetics.

Shutterbug Saturday: Alausi part II

Do any of these photos look familiar?

At this part of our tour through Alausi, Ecuador, we were greeted by indigenous dancers from the region who performed some folk dances. I even had my own dance partner later on who was head and shoulders shorter than me. It was quite fun learning about the native cultures in Ecuador. Oh yeah, I even tried a local dessert at the local cafe within walking distance.

Shutterbug Saturday: Alausi

Here are some more photos from Alausi!

There are more shots of Devil’s Nose Valley as my family and I took a train tour thousands of feet above sea level. At the bottom is a small picture I took of the Tren Ecuador service that gave us a tour.

Shutterbug Saturday: Riobamba/Alausi

These are the last few photos I have of Riobamba, Ecuador before going into Alausi.

In Alausi, we were on a train tour thousands of miles above sea level where we saw Devil’s Nose Mountain and some of the surrounding landscapes. It was fascinating being on a train so high up in terms of altitude.

Indigenous Dancing in Ecuador

Two videos for the price of one!

Not that you were paying to see these videos to begin with…alas, my pun didn’t work.

Anyways, these are some videos I took in Ecuador while my family and I were in Alausi. After a train tour, we were treated with an indigenous dance troupe who were locals to that part of the country. It was quite fascinating seeing this show and it was also good to know that there are social programs to help their community.

Enjoy!
