Shutterbug Saturday: Riobamba

This next section of photos takes place in the outskirts of Riobamba, Ecuador.

We stopped near the Iglesias de Balbanera which is the oldest Catholic church in the country. Right by it are some small village markets where one of the stores sold items made from vegetable ivory AKA tagua. Our tour guide Alex showed us the different stages of tagua while the craftsman named Washington did a demonstration making tagua crafts.
