[#TBT] Hope for the Dying: The Awakening (Live @ Cornerstone 2012)

Time for another #TBT video.

I can’t believe it’s been almost 5 years since the final Cornerstone. I still miss that festival. This is Hope for the Dying, who are a metal band from Southern Illinois. I met these guys back in 2009 and saw most of their sets back when they were on Strike First Records (Facedown’s developmental imprint).

Enjoy!

  1. Fascinating…while initially the lead singer opened this piece with keyboard music I thought I could discern all effects more readily that wont, he dropping that for screaming into the mike per custom (I guess..), it is an interesting affair me soaks up now too long afterwards. Thank you very much for sharing.

    1. Oh yeah. Josh (lead singer/keyboardist) does that a lot. He uses two mics at their shows with one on the keyboard and one where he’s moving around when not playing that instrument. Hope For the Dying is the most metal band on Facedown and it’s cool that some people from Illinois became a part of that label.
